to feel closer to Japanese culture in the means of kimono and photography,
taken in the beautiful scenery that Vancouver provides.
We take pictures that will help you remember the moment in beautiful Vancouver,
pictures that make you feel closer to your family over time,
We strive to take such pictures.
Profile
Kimono Stylist Mami Kuboki
She majored in clothing design and patternmaking at Sugino Women's University in Tokyo, and worked as the first patternmaker at Jun Ashida Studio and haute couture makers. She also launched an apparel brand for young people in Canada. She is also well versed in a wide range of artistic fields, including kimono, painting, music, tea ceremony (Urasenke), and flower arrangement (Sogetsu).
While assisting the former director of Todaiji Temple in Nara, Elder Tsutsui, she was exposed to an environment in which kimono took root in daily life, and relearned the basics of kimono dressing, kimono history, and kimono hair arrangement in her hometown of Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. At the same time, she collected kimonos from all over Japan and moved to Canada, where she has been working as a kimono stylist ever since.
